The castle of Racibórz is an old stronghold, whose origins are not fully known. The building preserved to this day results from many reconstructions carried out in the following centuries, and therefore, it combines different architectural styles. One of the most valuable objects is the castle chapel of Saint Thomas Becket of Canterbury, known as the pearl of the Silesian Gothic. The castle of Racibórz I s now open to the public. Nowadays, beer is produced mainly by large companies, which affects its quality. Therefore, more and more discerning beer drinkers are turning to the products of smaller breweries. Racibórz Castle Brewery prides itself on the oldest tradition of beer brewing in the region. According to written sources, it is known that in this area, beer brewing dates back to at least as early as the thirteenth century. The first mention of the ducal brewery comes from the sixteenth century.

The present church of John the Baptist is a neo-Gothic building dated from the years 1856-1866. It is located at Morawska Street in Racibórz Ostróg. However, the history of the church on this site is older, as there were successive wooden churches in this place from the thirteenth century on. The church, which sustained damage during the flood in 1997, is known for its venerated, highly suggestive painted image of Christ the Suffering.

The Racibórz Cultural Centre is one of the most important places on the cultural map of Racibórz. As befits the distinguished institution, it is housed in an old historic townhouse at 21 Chopina Street. The house was rebuilt in the Classicist style in the first half of the 19th century. In 1846, piano virtuoso Franz Liszt gave a performance in its elegant concert hall. In the interwar period, the hotel “German House” operated in it.

The church of Saint James is located at the Racibórz market square. It is a post-Dominican church, which was part of the former monastery, dating from the fifteenth century. Dominicans were brought to Raciborz at the end of the first half of the thirteenth century. The church building has a rather checkered history. It was burned down in fires, and as a result, was rebuilt many times. The Dominican monastery standing next to the church was demolished after the dissolution of the monasteries in Prussia in 1810.
Racibórz
The church of Holy Spirit of Racibórz is a fourteenth-century building. For ages, its history was associated with the nearby Dominican monastery. The convent in the monastery, which daughter of the local dukes entered, was one of the main religious and cultural centers in the area. Nowadays, inside the building, which after the dissolution of the monasteries in Prussia in 1810 went through various vicissitudes, there is a museum with some interesting exhibitions, including an archaeological one.
Racibórz
Located in a strategic position on the Oder, from its inception onwards, Racibórz served important military functions. For this reason, there are many monuments, which should be of interest to fans of militaria. The most famous, of course, is the Racibórz Castle, but it is worthwhile to visit the hussar barracks. Here, we will see brick buildings with a command headquarters and a manege adorned with unique murals.
