The Manor House in Borucin

In the village Borucin, which once belonged to the large estate of the Lichnowskys, there is a stone mansion on a small hill erected in the interwar period. It is quite a modest, eclectic building without any major decorations. The building standing next to the farm labourers’ houses is not very impressive. The surrounding land belonged to the family of Lichnowsky from 1679 until the Second World War.

Krzanowice, a little over two thousand town in the district of Racibórz, was granted town privileges probably as early as 1265 and had a municipal status for nearly 700 years. In 1945, after the Second World War, the Polish authorities changed it for a rural commune. Residents regained the former status in 2001. One of their arguments was a preserved old oval layout of the town with a market and a network of streets.
The imposing parish church of Saint Wenceslaus in Krzanowice stands in the vicinity of the market square of this small town, located in the south of the Silesian voivodeship. The building in the neo-Baroque style was erected on the site of an older, neo-Gothic church in 1914-1915. Inside, we will see eighteenth-century altars, a pulpit, and figures of saints, which come from the older church.
The village of Bieńkowice lies at the mouth of the Psina River into the Oder within the commune of Krzyżanowice on the road from Racibórz to Chałupki. The settlement was for the first time mentioned in 1283, but it may have existed a hundred years earlier. There are a few monuments, among them a private museum which is particularly worth visiting. It reminds of the local blacksmith traditions associated with the forge operating more than three hundred years ago. It was established by the Socha family in the second half of the seventeenth century
Bieńkowice is one of the villages close to Racibórz, which was mentioned in the middle of the fourteenth century. There is a baroque church of All Saints in the village. It was built in the first half of the eighteenth century, replacing an earlier building standing here. The village is known equestrian procession for its horse procession held on Easter Monday. This tradition on Polish soil is cultivated only in a few villages of Silesia.
Wojnowice is a village near Racibórz mentioned in the fourteenth century, when it belonged to the property of the Dominican Convent Racibórz. There are historic monuments in the village, including a nineteenth-century palace, which was rebuilt in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and the parish church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross. This church was erected in the style of late-Baroque and Neoclassicism in the late eighteenth century. It was rebuilt twice in the first half of the twentieth century.
Tworków is a large village near Racibórz. It prides itself on many interesting, high-class monuments. All visitors will be impressed with the local Baroque church with an unusually rich interior decoration, as well as with the ruins of an immense palace. Even a less imposing building, a hundred-year-old mill overlooking the picturesque pond is worth visiting. From ten generations on, it has belonged to the Pawlik family. Inside, there are old machines and equipment.
