The south-western part of Silesia isn’t usually associated with tourist attractions but it is certainly worth seeing for yourself that this is not the case. We recommend visiting the area on a bicycle, amateurs of bike-riding can use 800km of cycling routes, which is a distance longer than from Zakopane to Hel.

Not without reason the Western Subregion of Silesia Province is called the lungs of Silesia, since there are numerous nature reserves and vast landscape parks. Especially worth recommending is Łężczok reserve, a paradise for ornithologists and a place where you can see about a half of all bird species occurring in Poland, which migrate this way through the Moravian Gate. We also invite you to visit the magnificent monuments of religious architecture to meditate and strengthen spiritually in the shrines, for instance in Turza Śląska and Pszów. Large cities offer cultural attractions and great cyclical events enhanced by notable artists. The more important events include major music events like the concerts of Bryan Adams or Guns N ' Roses in Rybnik, modest but colorful Easter equestrian procession in Raciborszczyzna or the Feast of Fire in Żory commemorating historical events. Admirers of industrial monuments will also find something interesting here. In Rudy runs the historic narrow-gauge railway, in Wodzisław Śląski an imitation of underground mine workings can be visited, in Bieńkowice, in turn, there is the oldest forge in Poland, dating back to 1702. Also amateurs of active rest will not be disappointed. The region offers: sailing on the Rybnik Lake, canoeing on the river Ruda and Oder, air sports in Rybnik Aero Club, horse riding in numerous centers and many more.
