The gate-monument in Świętochłowice, which is a Memorial of the Victims of Totalitarianism, is all that has remained of the camp located in the district of Zgoda. During the occupation, the camp was a branch of the German Auschwitz concentration camp, and after the Second World War, it became one of the most cruel Stalinist camps. During its operation, from February to November 1945, 2,500 people were murdered here.
