The Zabrze Philharmonic was founded in the spring of 1950.
Its original name was the Philharmonic of the Trade Union of
Miners. Its repertoire has evolved from operettas and operas
to philharmonic concerts. It was to popularize music among
workers. Right, from the start it has also conducted activity
directed at a younger audience. In the 80s of the last century
it changed its name for "National Philharmonic Orchestra",
which resulted in the recognition by the authorities.
