The Wooden Chapel at the Manor House of the President of the Republic of Poland on the Zadni Groń Hill in Wisła

The chapel of Saint Hedwig on the hill of Zadni Groń in Wisła is part of the mansion belonging to the President of the Republic of Poland. The wooden Tyrolean-style building was erected in 1909, at the time when the hunting mansion of the Habsburgs, which had been built a bit earlier) was already standing nearby. Today, the property is located in the area administered by the Office of the President, but it is open to the public. Both Evangelical and Catholic services are held here.

The Mansion of the President of the Republic of Poland in Wisła is a Modernist building, erected in the years 1929-1930, in a picturesque, wooded area on the slopes of the hill called Zadni Groń, in the southern part of Wisła. It is the Residence of the President. The mansion resembling a medieval castle was designed by Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz. It was built from donations of the inhabitants of Silesia and ceremoniously handed over to President Ignacy Mościcki.
Czerniańskie Lake in the town of Wisła was created in 1973 by building a concrete on in the Vistula in the village of Wisła Czarne. The reservoir is filled with waters of the Czarna Wisełka and Biała Wisełka rivers, which flow down from Mount Barania Góra. The lake serves as a retention reservoir and as a source of drinking water for the inhabitants of Wisła and Ustroń. The lake comprises the nature reserve “Wisła”, which protects a species of trout. It also complements the scenic Beskid landscape to be admired during the romantic walks.
One of the greatest assets of Wisła, a town located in the mountains, is the wildlife of the Silesian Beskid. Mountains, streams and forests full of animals aroused admiration as early as the nineteenth century, when a planned forest management was launched. While staying in the resort at the foot of Barania Góra, it is worthwhile to visit the Historical Chamber and the Office of the Forester, which are situated at the building of the Forestry Management office. There, we will learn, inter alia, about the job of old foresters.
Kubalonka (761 m) is one of the popular passes in the Silesian Beskid, separating the range of Barania Góra and Skrzyczne from the range of Czantoria and Stożek. A road from Wisła to Istebna, which is part of the so-called Beskid Loop, runs through the pass. Kubalonka is also known as a cross-country skiing center. Fans of this sport have at their disposal a lot of excellent trails upgraded in 2009.
The reserve "Wisla" in the town of Wisła was established in 1959. It aims at protecting brown trout in the Czarna and Biała Wiselka rivers that flow down from the western slopes of Mount Barania Góra. The reserve is located on Czerniańskie Lake. The upper part of the reserve is covered with submontane spruce-fir forest, while below there is a Carpathian beech forest. There are several attractive hiking trails running through the reserve.
